About the Trust
The Trust was set up in memory of Professor Marijan Hanžeković. The founders of the Professor Dr Marijan Hanžeković Trust were the Institute of Public Finance, Marijan Hanžeković Jr, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian National Bank, Privredna banka, Zagrebacka banka and the Croatian Postal Bank. Apart from paying tribute to the memory of Professor Marijan Hanžeković, the objective of the Foundation is to promote the financial sciences and to encourage scholars and experts, especially the young, to be engaged with this discipline.

About prof. Hanžeković
Professor dr Marijan Hanžeković, lawyer and economist, as well as professor of literature and language, worked in almost all areas of the economy, especial in finances, the fiscal and monetary system, banking, securities and stock exchanges. He was born in 1915 in Slavonska Požega, and he died in 1993 in Zagreb. He went to the Real Gymnasium in Zagreb, graduating in 1933, and took a doctorate in the Law Faculty in 1938.
